As of now, the template {{City}} does not include a demonym, but templates such as {{CelestialBody}} do. Adding a demonym section to the city infobox would make a lot of sense in my opinion. There is an in-universe example with the city Tyrena which has the demonym Tyrenan (from Ghosts of Dathomir). However, the demonym is unable to be added because the template does not allow it to be present. Having a section for a demonym would increase the information on the page to be more lore-accurate, and if the city itself does not have a demonym, it can simply be left blank, so it does not hurt to add it.

Cities in the real world already have demonyms (New York is New Yorkers, Paris is Parisian, etc.). Wikipedia’s city template already has a space for demonyms, which is used often, and can be seen here as “population_demonym.” Since Wookieepedia takes inspiration from Wikipedia, I think we should take their template into account.

Although I can’t find any more in-universe examples of this, I’m sure there has to be at least one more out there, and it was probably forgotten because we don’t have the demonym section in the infobox. It's my first time posting here, and I’m not sure how the whole changing of an infobox goes here, but I feel the need to bring it up to see other people’s thoughts.

  • Yea, makes sense. Just because there is only one example known currently, it does seem to be a pretty crucial piece of info to have on the infobox. I'd support. Bonzane10 Bonzane10-Sig 18:07, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
  • Generally nowadays the process for changing an infobox with a lot of usages (a "lot" is subjective, but anything that needs a bot run is sort of in that category) is brought to a CT for a quick vote. Then, once the CT passes, the bot operator then carries out the change. This does have the added benefit of ensuring that if people disagree they have/had the chance to vote on it; means there's a lot less edit-warring over templates.—spookywillowwtalk 18:54, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
    • Ah, thank you. I had no idea. I'll add it to the CT! —Vuvalan ChissAscendancyCanonSymbol talk 05:01, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
  • As a couple more examples Spinnaker and Parrlay both have their own demonyms Commander Code-8 Hello There! 23:53, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
