Hello, hello: Linked here are my proposed changes to the existing content of Wookieepedia:Spoilers. I shall update that link with changes per any feedback below.

In the past months, a few people on the Discussions forum and the Discord server have asked whether they could post spoilers on either the forum or the wiki. The main intent of the spoiler policy is just to require spoilers to be marked as such, and the policy summary isn't really in keeping with the details, and it also mentions the Template:DidYouKnow feature, which had been retired from the Main Page due to disuse when the admin team overhauled it earlier this year—to make all of this clearer, I suggest rewording the intro and cleaning up the list of spoiler tags.

I don't know whether or not we want to keep the special two-month spoiler period for major movie releases (our last one was The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, and our next ones, so far as we know currently, will be The Mandalorian and Grogu in 2026 and then Star Wars: Starfighter in 2027), so that might be something worth discussing. In any case, in keeping with {{Moviespoiler}}, I think the page would benefit from standardising the use of the word "movie" over "film" throughout the page.

For "Adding new information to articles," I also think it would be good to codify the plea to avoid putting spoilers in edit summaries (which you can see right above the edit summary box every time you open the editing window) but also advise that, if need be, at least preface the summary with a warning that it has spoilers. Lastly, the bullet point about movie releases has always confused me—it's definitely worth spelling out 00:00 in UTC−10:00 (per UTC being the primary time standard and the existence of Daylight Savings, which Hawaii does not have, blessedly). • Why are we suddenly preferring "movie" over "film" when we do the opposite pretty much everywhere else on the site, including in article prose? Imperators II(Talk) 13:27, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
    • The template name is Moviespoiler, but I wouldn't mind keeping them at "film." Could even rename that template Filmspoiler? OOM 224 18:11, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
      • Yeah, I'd move it to {{FilmSpoiler}} in that instance, then move "TVspoiler" to {{TVSpoiler}} so we can keep on standardizing template names to follow CamelCase. I think an even better idea, though, would be to move both templates to {{Spoiler-Film}} and {{Spoiler-TV}} instead, so that anyone typing up "{{Spoiler" while editing would see all three spoiler templates pop up as autosuggestions. Different naming than what we have now, sure, but much easier for people to find and use the proper templates that way. Jedi Sarith LeKit (talk) 18:48, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
        • I like that. OOM 224 21:11, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
  • The "Information may be..." bits for movie/TV could use punctuation at the end. Otherwise looks good, though somewhat agreed with Imp.—spookywillowwtalk 15:00, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

  • I think the two month spoiler for films might be rediscussing to just one month Lewisr (talk) 01:40, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
