Hello there! I'm making this Senate Hall post to gather interest and recruit for something I'm calling WookieeProject:Defiance (WP:DEFIANCE), a WookieeProject in the same vein to WookieeProject Ambition but focusing on anything and everything involving:
- Alliance to Restore the Republic
- New Republic
- Alliance of Free Planets
- Galactic Federation of Free Alliances
- Galactic Alliance Remnant
- Resistance
- Citizens' Fleet
- Resistance successor organization/government future content may establish.
- Even pre-Alliance topics and subjects that are related to the Alliance's history, such as Operation Handoff, Chandrila Mistress, Luthen Rael, Segra Milo, Fest Resistance Group, Atrivis Resistance Group, etc.
Essentially, anything "Rebellion" related in both Star Wars Canon and Star Wars Legends. The focus of this project is to bring articles related to these groups up to comprehensive, good, and featured status and maintain them as such.
As I'm not on Discord, I'm following the site policy page by creating a Senate Hall thread. If you're interested, please comment below and provide any suggestions you see fit! Alliance Cabinet meeting
- Just offering my two-cents, but I'm uncertain if everything about the New Republic belongs in the scope. The government's founding was built off the back of the Rebellion certainly, but I don't think characters like Hamato Xiono, a senator of the NR, belong in this scope. NBDani

- How about limiting the scope of New Republic articles (and I suppose also Galactic Federation of Free Alliances? I'm not knowledgable on that) to only be covered as it pertains to the Galactic Civil War and Legends conflicts such as Second Imperium Crisis, Second Galactic Civil War, etc? --Vitus InfinitusTalk 23:04, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

- I don't think we should cover the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. That government fought the Yuuzhan Vong War and other conflicts, but not one in which they would be considered "Rebels" as they were a ruling galactic government and became closer to an authoritarian regime. We should, however, include the Galactic Alliance Remnant, as this is a military resistance movement fought against the Galactic Federation and other factions in the Second Imperial Civil War. I've outlined the focus of the project in better detail: "The focus of this WookieeProject is centered around articles related to the "Rebellion." In Canon storytelling, the auspices of this WookieeProject are articles related to the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire by pre-Alliance factions and individuals, the Rebel Alliance, the New Republic during the Galactic Civil War, the Resistance, the Citizens' Fleet, and any potential successor organization to the Resistance that future content may establish. In Legends storytelling, the auspices of this WookieeProject are the Imperial Period conflicts related to pre-Alliance factions and individuals, the Rebel Alliance, the Alliance of Free Planets, and the Galactic Alliance Remnant." - It... really doesn't sound at all clear to me what you'd like this WookieeProject to focus on. :) If it's about the Rebel Alliance and its successors, then those absolutely include the NR and the GA. If it's about the Rebel Alliance and its derived organizations that fought against the Empire and it's successors, then that also includes the NR (in Legends, for more than half of the GCW in fact) and the GA (against the Imperial Remnant and its successors). If it's about resistances against larger regimes in general, then I'm sure there's a ton more that could be included, both from before the GCW-era and also the NR and the GA (in Legends, against the reigning Yuuzhan Vong empire). - It's definitely about the first and second points, but it's been brought up that the NR wouldn't classify as "Rebels" once we get into the New Republic Era post GCW and prior to the First Order.
