Hello everyone. I just came up with an idea yesterday. I think it would be useful to create category pages to individuals who were killed by such major characters like Darth Maul, Savage Opress, Darth Vader etc. Since these characters killed dozens of identified or unidentified characters, it would be useful to categorise them in one place. I do not mean to create a category for every clone trooper who shot a battle droid or a Geonosian, but as I said, for major, mainly "evil" characters, who affect the saga. However, while starting to create a category for Darth Maul, the category became speedily deleted, and I got the response from some admins that it is simply "not needed", "waste of space", and "against the rules". To be honest, I disagree with it, and I would like to hear some ideas about it. i think it would have a positive effect on Wookieepedia. As I stated above, I only mean the major characters, please take this into consideration. Waiting for the answers. Best wishes, --XXLVenom998 (talk) 08:28, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
- On SWFanon, we at one point had a category for deceased characters. It was later deemed not to be all that necessary and I had recently protected it from being recreated. Basically, for me, it boils down to simply why anyone would actively be looking for such a category. Jedi Purge victims, yes. I've searched that category. However, I haven't thought of looking for "individuals killed by Darth Vader," mainly because it just never crossed my mind. Neither has looking for "deceased individuals." Basically, if I want to know if a certain character died, I check their article. If they were slain, I check their article. Categorizing them by who they were killed by or even just being dead, apart from being part of a massacre or holocaust, just seems redundant. :/ Trak Nar Ramble on 08:58, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
- If it wouldn't cross anyone's mind, why did it cross mine? Or am I not a human? What's more, it would greatly help if someone doesn't have time to read an article which is 5000 lines long. As I mentioned, this would only be to major characters. --XXLVenom998 (talk) 09:58, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
- The whole site is in past tense. We assume everyone is a deceased individual. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 13:22, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
- Seconding, Culator. I would look into a body count for particular mass murderers though. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:40, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Thats the point! It would be only for mass murderers (more than 15-20 kills). --XXLVenom998 (talk) 15:16, January 4, 2013 (UTC)
- So Luke Skywalker would fall into this category then? Considering the quarter of a million people he killed? And Wedge and Lando? And R2? It would have to be applied fairly across all characters, not just the "evil" ones - which, as we strive for NPOV we do not recognise characters as "good" or "bad". The creation of categories for deaths caused by a character is, in my view, unencyclopedic. - Cavalier One

- Categorizing individuals by who killed them is simply trivia. We're not a trivia site. Grand Moff Tranner

- On the other hand, I could see the usefulness if it would help people realize that R2-D2 is history's greatest monster... -- Darth Culator (Talk) 19:05, January 6, 2013 (UTC)
