For articles like The galaxy and Galaxy, basically every source that has an image would have to be listed in its sources section. This includes every StarWars.com article or databank entry. I think it would be much more useful and effective to limit the sources section for sources that specifically state the words "the galaxy" or "galaxy". -ThrawnChiss7 (talk) 21:11, 2 June 2022 (UTC)

  • There's an issue with that though, since the layout guide says to 'Include even the smallest mentions in dialogue, narration, or visual appearance' Lewisr (talk) 21:19, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
    • Yeah, this issue has been brought up from time to time, but the reason why that's not done is because it runs contrary to what the Layout Guide says about the Appearances and Sources sections; it's best to stay consistent and list everything rather than arbitrarily creating yet another standard on what gets listed and what doesn't. • Per OOM, there's indeed been some brain-storming on this on the Discord on several occasions now. You're not wrong that for the galaxy articles the Appearances/Sources list would most probably just duplicate our media timelines pages, but yeah, until we come up with an alternative system to just manually listing those sources there, it's best to just stick with what the policy mandates. Personally, though, I suggest that people find more, uh, "productive" ways to contribute. Imperators II(Talk) 15:42, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
  • The other problem is that its hard to draw a line. Like, we add galaxy and the galaxy. cool. what about planet and system? eye? head? limb? weapon? droid? you can see that we could keep expanding on it, with no clear line of what is or isnt excluded without a defined list to refer to Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 23:15, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
    • I think that we could draw the line at galaxy and the galaxy. I think this would make sense, as literally every piece of Star Wars media I know of has galaxy and the galaxy, whereas there are some pieces of media that do not include all the articles you mentioned. -ThrawnChiss7 (talk) 23:31, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
