The result of the debate was make Wookieepedia:What Wookieepedia is not policy. - —Silly Dan (talk) 22:53, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
What aren't we?
Continuing the discussion from the talk page for Wookieepedia:What Wookieepedia is not:
- What do people think should be added, if anything?
- What do people think should be deleted, if anything?
- I feel like something should be added saying what Wookieepedia is, in order to make it seem a bit more friendly to new users (right now, it's very much "don't do this, don't do that".) Any suggestions?
- Should we make this "policy", or keep it as a non-binding unofficial description of what the community has already decided?
Please comment. Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 23:37, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

- I feel the reason the whole "don't do this, do this" sentiment is present here is simply because people do not listen or read as to what they're supposed to do, especially many of our younger users that do not grasp such concepts as categorization or tense or even spelling. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:50, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Sadly, such users wouldn't read the page even if we linked it to the welcome message! At least then, when their edits were reverted/their fanon was deleted/they were banned, we would have another page to point at to explain why....—Silly Dan (talk) 23:56, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I do agree that this needs to link from the welcome template. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:31, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

- I have a suggestion, but I don't know if this is a widespread sentiment or not. Under "Wookieepedia is not Wikipedia", may I suggest adding that we have developed our own rules, policies and standards and that we are not a clone of Wikipedia in regards to said rules, policies and standards? Maybe adding: "Also, some of our rules, policies and article standards differ greatly from those of Wikipedia; please see Category:Policies on Wookieepedia, Layout Guide and Manual of Style for more details."
