I think the usage of Template:SW (for SW.com articles after September 2011) and Template:SWArchive (for dates prior to that) creates some problems. Most notably, the version of TCW episode guides from 2011 to 2014 is hardly distinguishable from the most recent version of the episode guide, because it uses this template. Take a look at Gauntlet (Pre Vizsla)#Sources. Anyone without prior knowledge about the different episode guide versions and their usage would click on the link and it would direct him to the modern episode guides, despite those not being canon. There is nothing signaling that the archive links are the actual source being used here. This could be prevented by using the SWArchive-Template which says (content now obsolete, backup link). There are also cases in which previous versions of a SW.com link are used in the article despite no visual distinction from regular links, like with the DB entry for the Gauntlet. I propose changing the relevant part of the template description for Template:SW to:
"This template is to be used for all StarWars.com articles that are currently accessible. For articles that are now obsolete, use {{SWArchive}}."
and the description of SWArchive to:
"This template is to be used for all StarWars.com articles that are now obsolete. For articles that are currently accessible, use {{SW}}." Janomoogo (talk) 22:04, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

After a discussion on Discord, i have found that a template for episode guides is a better idea to fix this problem. If no one objects i think this can be moved to the archive. Janomoogo (talk) 22:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
