Following up on Forum:SH:"Unidentified" IU taking naming priority over conjectural "unidentified" for the Wookieepedia:Naming policy, specifically the "In-universe vs. in-universe articles" subsection of the Disambiguation subheader.
Suggesting the following get tacked onto the bottom of that section:
- If an article's subject is only referred to in-universe with an "Unidentified" descriptor (example: Unidentified moon) and there are also conjecturally-named articles competing for that same page title (example: Unidentified moon (disambiguation)), the former shall take precedence. If there is more than one subject referred to with "Unidentified" in-universe and also conjecturally named articles competing for that same page title, the central title should be a redirect to the corresponding disambiguation page.
Doesn't affect many, but we already did move "Unidentified moon" to that from "Unidentified moon (Tribunal)" just because it made a bit more sense. And, the points on SH about whether truly unidentified in the firmest sense are valid, but this goes out of its way to state its just for ones referred to that way (which they validly are). So it's not a conjectural thing any Wookieepedian made up, which is the difference.—spookywillowwtalk 18:21, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

I don't have an opinion about the issue up for vote, but I do think that the added text should punctuate "conjecturally named" correctly, without the hyphen (see, for example, https://www.dailywritingtips.com/adverbs-and-hyphens/). Asithol (talk) 01:56, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Went ahead and just nicked the - out, since its punctuation that doesn't affect the meaning/scope of the vote.—spookywillowwtalk 02:09, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
