Hello there! I'd like to propose a pretty simple amendment to one of the Comprehensive article nomination rules after a discussion about it in a recent nomination. As you know, all three status nomination pages state that nominated articles must not be deliberately shortened if they approach the 250- and 1000-word limits so the nominations can reach their best versions possible without worrying about the technicalities of our reviewing process. While I believe it's already implied, I think this should also be the case for the 165-word limit for having an introduction and sectioning. Therefore, I propose the following change to CAN rule #14:

Current version:

  • …not be deliberately shortened if it approaches the 250-word limit.

Proposal:

  • …not be deliberately shortened if it approaches the 165- or 250-word limits.

  7. Simple enough. I will say that I've always been a bit iffy about the wording "deliberately shortened" though, cos sometimes you make things simpler and concise by trimming out redundant words and unnecessary context (without sacrificing information actually relevant to the article subject, that is).
