Recently, infobox images for Star Wars: The Old Republic characters who appear in cinematic trailers have been changed to that of their appearance in the game itself. It's my understanding that elsewhere, the wiki prefers infobox images to be as realistic as possible, and the cinematics clearly win over the game in that regard. (Note: Arcann is an exception in my opinion since his appearance changes drastically) Here are the four images that I think should be used in the infoboxes:

- We didn't change the images of Legends film characters to match their aged EU appearances, so I'll support this under similar logic as the trailer images are much more lifelike. However I don't think there's a problem with the Malgus headshot, I didn't even notice that it was just a head till now, and the image suggested here doesn't quite get enough of his face in. Oppose
- While realism is indeed a significant factor in deciding infobox images, the image of the latest chronology is preferred, especially when the appearance of the character is different. The same rationale applies here, and doubly so because there is a nearly 30-year gap between the trailers and the current update of the game, which is why there are such drastic differences in character appearances between the trailer screenshots and the game screenshots. - Yeah, three of those characters have visibly aged quite a bit, while the one with Malgus has most of his face in shadow. Fan26 (Talk) 22:19, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- The replacements do not feel right for some reason. Rakhsh (talk) 23:26, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- I oppose this as-is, but I do think that using the cinematic images for infoboxes would work if it reflected their most up-to-date in-universe appearances. The problem is, they don't. Additionally, the images up above aren't the best quality either (resolution/blurriness, that is). I do think Malgus should be updated, however, as a disembodied head like he currently has looks very odd. DFaceG (talk)

- I think this should have been done with separate votes for each image, rather than all-or-nothing, but since I oppose two of them strongly, here's my vote. Immi Thrax

- There's no doubt about it.

- While I'd agree if the images from the trailers matched their current appearances in game, they unfortunately do not, and have not for quite some time. CataclsymicMints (talk) 03:10, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Current infobox images for comparison: (the Malgus one should probably be updated to reflect his latest appearance) OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 22:23, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
A preview of Darth Malgus's page with the alternate image. Looks much better, no? --Potsk (talk) 06:52, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Given that you have modified code for the way you view Wookieepedia (dark background, light text), the above image is not a true representation of what the article will look like with the changed image. The standard layout -- white background, black text (which is what logged-out users and general visitors to the site see) would be more appropriate as an example. - Sir Cavalier of One

- By the way, that isn't Satele Shan's current infobox image. I've changed it for a higher quality one weeks before this CT.
