One popular alternative is to allow quotes from users, so long as you're not allowed to nominate or vote for your own quotes.

This option would restrict QOTD to quotes from characters and from authors/film makers/actors/ etc.

  • Technically, don't some Wookieepedians count as VIPs. For example, couldn't one say they weren't quoting Azizlight, the Wookieepedian, but rather Arthur Papadam, noted canon-maker? Just a thought... -LtNOWIS 10:45, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
    • If we decide on "no", I think that would still be OK as long as it's something he said off-Wookieepedia (i.e. not on talk pages, his user page, or the IRC channel), and someone other than Aziz nominates it. —Silly Dan (talk) 11:42, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

  • There seems to be almost universal consensus on this....anyone object if we keep any Wookieepedia quotes currently in the queue or in the archive, but remove all of the quotes currently on the vote page? —Silly Dan (talk) 20:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
