The result of the debate was disallow. - —Silly Dan (talk) 20:31, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Do we want to allow QOTD entries from Wookieepedians (i.e. things an editor said on Wookieepedia?)
Contents
Yes
This is our current policy.
Yes, but
One popular alternative is to allow quotes from users, so long as you're not allowed to nominate or vote for your own quotes.

No
This option would restrict QOTD to quotes from characters and from authors/film makers/actors/ etc.

- Makes us look pompous. Selecting "good quotations" is inherently subjective, especially when we quote our fellow Wookieepedians. TopAce 12:47, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

- No. I was amazed when BaronGrackle's quote was featured- not that it's bad, but that it was the QOTD. Atarumaster88 14:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

- Technically, don't some Wookieepedians count as VIPs. For example, couldn't one say they weren't quoting Azizlight, the Wookieepedian, but rather Arthur Papadam, noted canon-maker? Just a thought... -LtNOWIS 10:45, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- I guess I should be the one who's beaten with a dozen Jawas for starting the whole concept. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- And I'm feeling rather lonely with my sole "yes, but". :-P It's really not important to me, though. I have no problem with disallowing user quotes. -- Ozzel 01:21, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- There seems to be almost universal consensus on this....anyone object if we keep any Wookieepedia quotes currently in the queue or in the archive, but remove all of the quotes currently on the vote page? —Silly Dan (talk) 20:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
