It looks like some Wookieepedians have decided that a pro-Republic/pro-Jedi point of view is perfectly acceptable, to the point of changing the "Welcome, newcomers" page without community approval.

Frankly, I think we should decide on the official point of view policy from now on and set it in stone. Whatever the outcome is, it's better for me than what we have now, when there is a Wikipedia-inherited policy which nobody cares about.

To quote StarNeptune: Either we're NPOV, or we're not. Not "We're NPOV, except in some articles that deal with the Republic and/or the Jedi". Given that, I should say that, in my opinion, we should be truely NPOV, in the same sense as Wikipedia tries to be, with no preference for any particular faction. - Sikon [Talk] 05:09, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree. However, I would note that that edit to which you refer [1] is isolated (at least as far as I know); I don't think there's really a systemic slant. RMF 05:11, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

It's an all or nothing deal...either we promote a neutral point of view across the board, or we face charges down the road of being less than neutral in articles regarding the Republic and/or the Jedi, which would erode the credibility of this site. Is there a concensus in that the articles should be NPOV, not JPOV? Because if so, it should be added to the Manual of Style. —Mirlen 14:42, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
