As of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Onslaught, this character has been mainly referred to by the name Tenebrae, the transition from Valkorion to Tenebrae beginning in Knights of the Eternal Throne when Dramath revealed this as his birth name. My arguments for renaming the page "Tenebrae" are the following:
- The above.
- Lord Vitiate was the title he was granted by Marka Ragnos when he joined the Sith. He abandoned this title when he simply became the Sith Emperor. Use of the name Vitiate returned when he was disowned by the Sith Empire for lack of a better name other than "our former emperor", but he did not use this name himself. At this point he called himself Valkorion, the name of the Zakuulan warrior whose body he possessed. The page cannot be named Valkorion as it is already the name of the linked page.
- He was not considered Sith by himself nor by other Sith in the end, and as I said, Vitiate was his Sith name.
- These are quotes in Eternal Throne and Onslaught in which this character is called Tenebrae.
- "No. I sense his presence, but it is faint. Distant. You are not Tenebrae."
"Are you talking about Valkorion?"
"Valkorion. Tenebrae. Vitiate. Emperor of the Sith. My low-born son has worn many masks." - ―Dramath and the Alliance Commander[src]
- "I can help you defeat Tenebrae. I know his weakness."
- ―Dramath[src]
- "There will come a moment when Tenebrae is vulnerable. That is when you must strike."
- ―Dramath[src]
- "I have one last surprise for you... Tenebrae."
- ―The Alliance Commander[src]
- "Through Tenebrae's death, I will earn my freedom."
- ―Dramath[src]
- "Tenebrae! Join me in death."
- ―Dramath[src]
- "As I told you on Carrick Station--Tenebrae's last, gruesome weapon. He sought immortality... but only his endless spite survives now."
- ―Scourge[src]
- "Unless we destroyed Tenebrae, the fight against Valkorion would never really be over."
- ―Kira Carsen[src]
- "Since we had both been vessels for Tenebrae's power in the past, we were both protected to a large degree. Like a vaccine."
- ―Scourge[src]

Discussion and alternative options
- Our Naming policy states the following:
- "Whenever alternate names are used in canon, use the name under which the subject was known during the later time period [...] or, for characters, at the moment of the character's death [...]." and
- "Whenever two or more names are used by a character simultaneously (adopted names included), use the most commonly known of those names [...]. Exceptions may apply to characters who prominently identify as a certain name despite their public persona."
- Does or does not this apply to "Tenebrae"? Imperators II(Talk) 09:45, February 21, 2020 (UTC)
- I believe this may apply here. As Potsk explained, Vitiate was his Sith name. Born Tenebrae, he was renamed Vitiate. Then he spent a thousand years ruling the Sith Empire and was known only as the "Sith Emperor". When he betrayed the Empire, everyone started calling him Vitiate to reflect his non-leadership position in relation to the Imperials. After his definitive destruction (he might return in some form), people started calling him by original name: Tenebrae, which was previously unknown. Honestly, I'm still undecided on my vote but Potsk makes a fair case.

- "After his definitive destruction (he might return in some form)" — per the Naming policy excerpts above, this is a game-changer, though. If at the time of his death he was called Vitiate and only later was referred to as Tenebrae, then the page should remain at Vitiate. Imperators II(Talk) 21:35, February 21, 2020 (UTC)
