The result of the debate was Overturn Forum:CT Archive/Fan-made Maps, prohibit use of fan-made maps in articles. Atarumaster88 (Talk page) 23:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Back in March of 2006, we had a consensus track thread on fan-made maps. The decision there was to continue using accurate fan-made maps in articles. I think it's time to revisit this decision. Any fan-made map accurate enough to be used on this site has to be based on an existing canon map, so there's no reason not to use a scan of THAT map, instead.
Fan-made maps
Use them
Don't use them

- Like I said last time in the Mofference...fan-made maps have "best guess" placings, and occasionally placings that "felt right" to the author. If we allow fan-made maps, we might as well allow fanon when we like the editors. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 06:53, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, those arguments that he done made. - Lord Hydronium 06:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

- fan-made maps = Fanon. So... no, we shouldn't use them. --Jedimca0(Do or Do Not, There is No Try) 18:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've always been against the use of fan-made maps, for the reasons stated by Jaymach. Greyman
(Talk) 18:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC) - The previous decision said "accurate fan-made maps." Sadly, fan art is so much less likely to be canon-accurate that we may as well leave it out, except maybe for BtS. —Silly Dan (talk) 18:37, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Can't believe I found this thing so late in the vote. But, absolutely. Thanks, but no thanks, Nav-computer.com Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:58, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Fraajic 20:08, 30 March 2008 (UTC) - Per Silly Dan. No offense intended to the various fan mapmakers out there—in fact it pains me to vote this way—but kick-ass, well-researched fanon is still fanon. Gonk (Gonk!) 20:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
