The result of the debate was do not use Skype for official events. - Sikon 09:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
The proposal is in the title. - Sikon 00:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

00:35, 26 March 2007 (UTC) - Since one third of our bureaucrats apparently refuse to use Skype (i.e. Sikon won't use it), we should probably keep our Mofferences on IRC. I see no reason we can't keep a Skype conference as an auxiliarly communications channel (much like Jabber, the discussion thread on the Jedi Council Forums, and any other online communications channel sufficiently popular with our editors) while restricting official business to this wiki's forums and talk pages, #wookieepedia, and associated IRC channels. —Silly Dan (talk) 00:39, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Support per Silly Dan. Also, some folks don't so much "refuse to use Skype" as are simply unable. Excluding participation for such reasons is not cool. —Gonk (Gonk!) 00:41, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Strong support. I am one of those people who is unable to use Skype. tzzA 00:44, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose I see no reason to ban it...I see no reason to use it either...but that doesn't mean we should ban it. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 00:51, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose. If this was Wengo we were talking about, this wouldn't be an issue. StarNeptuneTalk to me! 00:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Wengo (or, more accurately, SIP) is irrelevant at this point. - Sikon 04:14, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Support. Two out of three. I like my IRC. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Support per Silly Dan. Also, use of VOIP, Skype or otherwise, requires additional hardware (speakers and a microphone) and an environment conducive to their use (i.e. not in a library or other public place where silence is a virture). I see no reason we should exclude from official Wooki business those with bare-bones computer systems or access only to public computer resources. jSarek 10:12, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

- Support. Nobody ever said we were using Skype for anything important. Skype is a toy. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 11:15, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

- Suppor. Good heavens, Mofferences are bad enough without having to listen to them too. Not to mention logging. Atarumaster88

- Support. Official, of course not. Now unofficial, that's completely irrelevent :P —Xwing328(Talk) 03:49, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Who ever proposed doing anything official on Skype? .... 01:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's for the future. At the rate it's going, I'm concerned that a decision to host something official on Skype may be made behind my back. - Sikon 04:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
