The result of the debate was to not add additional fields to the character infoboxes.–SentryTalk 10:44, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Recently flipping through the original Essential Guide to Characters, I noticed the "infobox" style sections of the entries included "Weapon of choice" and "Vehicle of choice". Is that an option we may want to include on the infoboxes here? Using those categories would be optional, of course. I would think these should only be used if there's a specific established weapon or vehicle for that character. Luke would have X-Wing and lightsaber, etc. Any thoughts? --JMM 17:47, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well personally, I don't think that information is particularly necessary to implement in the character infoboxes, but that's just my opinion. —Mirlen 20:38, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Those type of fields are more suited for guides rather than encyclopedias, such as the Wookiee. Some infoboxes could include specific vessels owned or operated by the character (e.g. Thrawn's would include Chimaera) but really it's too broad a category - and it would also imply that Luke used a lightsaber for his entire life, and he never so much as picked up another weapon - Kwenn 21:09, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- One field I think could be useful could be lightsaber color. Obviously this would only be useful for Jedi characters—a major drawback I admit. However, it was the idea that came to mind while reading this thread. --Eyrezer 14:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

- Adding these fields might make the article appear more OOU, so I'm against it. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:07, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- There was a discussion long, long ago that resulted in the weapon and vehicle fields being removed from the character infobox. I'm all for a lightsaber color field for {{Jedi character infobox}}, however. - Sikon [Talk] 05:59, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- With lightsaber color, how would we handle those that have multiple sabers with different colors, ie Kyle Katarn? Perhaps have the color of their most recent LS only? --Eyrezer 03:39, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- That's one of the reasons for NOT putting them in. In my opinion, things that aren't "fixed" (ie species, homeworld, eye colour) or at least, relatively "fixed" (affiliation) about someone shouldn't go in infoboxes. QuentinGeorge 06:33, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

- How about infomation on appearance like eye color, hair color, notable features like cybernetic arm.. --Dumac 23:08, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Eye and hair color are okay to be implemented on infoboxes if that information is clearly known, since that sort of information isn't necessary in the article—however notable features like a cybernetic arm I don't think is very necessary — and that sort of information could be put in the article instead, since there must be a story behind it. ;) —Mirlen 21:31, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
