Hi there. I'm a new user on this wiki so I understand if I hold little 'weight'. There is a user with the nickname SFH who takes issue with some of my information. I'm attempting to expand on a discrepancy that seems to root back to a Lucas Film Fact File. The subject in question is Zule Xiss and her species origin.
While I understand there are issues with people picking and choosing which information one wishes to believe or not, I feel that there has been a clerical error that rests with LFL solely. My first edit of Zule was to rectify the situation. I was not aware of how to read my messages at the time and when the file did not seem to be changed, I re-pasted my edit. Apparently SFH in the meantime had been reverting my posts and had sent me two messages which i read only after I attempted to repair what I thought was a system error.
His message was threatening and in my opinion a bit rabid. His opposition to the character in question being Zeltron instead of Falleen, despite my addition of other information seems rather didactic, as if he had a moral highpoint to delver, rather than considering the information I added. While I do not agree with her being a Falleen in any way shape or form, I conceded to only add the following information as opposed to changing her listing or race in the post:
Behind the scenes
The Official Star Wars Fact File identifies Zule as a Falleen, despite her appearance indicating otherwise. She does not exhibit many characteristics found in both male and female Falleen, including small scales all over the body, slightly clawed fingers and toes, and prominent facial, and spinal ridges. Additionally she has ears whereas page 40 of The Essential Guide to Alien Species shows a female Falleen with a ridge of skin with hair extending from it where ears should be on a human or near-human. Zule's species has not been mentioned in any other source to date. Her red skin is a large indication that she is a Zeltron as well as her difficulty in controlling her emotions as is the case with most Zeltron, a great difficulty for a Jedi. Although Falleen are known to be able to change their skin pigmentation to other colors, it is also noted that female Falleen's "ability to change their color is somewhat more limited than in the male counterpart", further proof that Zule was not a member of that reptilian race.
After I added this information, SFH again, reverted it to the previous, less complete description. While I will continue to gather information and seek to have LFL reassess their description of her in the 'Fact File', I ask that you please allow my above information as it simply adds further reasoning why Zule may not be Falleen and hopefully prevent from SFH from editing it back to a less informed version. I did try to send him a message personally to discuss this issue but he either has not verified his e-mail or does not allow others to message him, which I find confusing since he feels he should message me with threats of banning.
Thank you very much for your consideration, Rachel Tharp
- You should be able to edit User talk:SFH, even if you can't email him. (Many users prefer not to be contacted via email for whatever reason.) The problem here is that your BTS phrasing implies that the Fact File was making an error, and that she "really" was a Zeltron. It'd be better to leave it with a discussion of the discrepancies, without an attempt to come to conclusions which contradict the only canon we have on the subject. —Silly Dan (talk) 20:53, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
- If I came off as "rapid", I apologize. And I didn't mean that you were going to get banned, but you were unresponsive and constantly kept changing it to Zeltron. I apologize for simply reverting them, but canon is canon. Trust me, I am much more pliable than some users. -- SFH 23:26, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
