Football was a ball sport that was very popular during the Clone Wars. During the Battle of Ryloth[1] in 21 BBY,[2] information on a Galactic Republic display screen stated that another sport was the "second most important sport right after football."[1] The Force-sensitive Grogu, who stood at 0.34 meters tall, was only marginally bigger than a football.[3]
Behind the scenes
Football was first mentioned on a display screen in "Liberty on Ryloth,"[1] the twenty-first episode in Season One of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television series, which premiered on March 13, 2009.[4] In the real world, the term football can refer to multiple different sports, including association football and American football.[5]
