- "What? It's just you? Ah!"
- ―The Flower Queen
The Flower Queen was a being who lived on the Forest Moon of Endor. She and her siblings, the Sun King, Leaf Queen, and Snow King, were responsible for controlling the weather of Endor using the season scepter, but in 3 ABY, the Snow King fell under the influence of a nefarious Frost Sprite named Odra, who led him to freeze over the entire moon. The remaining seasonal beings tried to enlist Ewok shaman Logray for assistance, but several young Ewoks came instead, much to the Flower Queen's dismay. However, the Ewoks were able to steal back the scepter, saving Endor from a bitter winter.
Biography
- "No sunstar? Then only the Season Scepter can melt my brother's heart, and we don't have it. Oh, no."
- ―The Flower Queen
The Flower Queen was a powerful female being who resided on the Forest Moon of Endor. She worked with the Sun King, Leaf Queen, and Snow King—her siblings—to control the weather of the moon using the season scepter,[1] a Force-powered staff.[2] In 3 ABY,[3] the Snow King fell in love with the nefarious Frost Sprite Odra, whose influence chilled the king's heart and led him to inflict an intense snowy season upon Endor. In response, the Leaf Queen called for the Ewok shaman Logray's help, but as he was unavailable, several young Ewoks came instead: Wicket Warrick, Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, Teebo, and Latara.[1]
The Flower Queen (far left) meets with her siblings and the Ewoks regarding the Odra crisis.
They arrived at the Sun King's palace via a flying leaf the Leaf Queen had sent, though Kintaka had been captured by the Snow King's Iceheads on the way there. The Leaf Queen introduced herself and her siblings, with the Flower Queen fretting about how her petals were not yet colored properly for the season. The Leaf Queen explained how an early winter had befallen Endor, which comforted Teebo, who was under the impression that he had caused the snow by a mistaken magic spell. The Ewoks then revealed that neither Logray nor his magical gem, the sunstar, were with them, which stressed out the Flower Queen. She worriedly explained that the only solution would be to unfreeze the Snow King's heart with the scepter.[1]
The remaining Ewoks hurried to the Snow Palace, where Kintaka was being held, and successfully recovered the scepter, freed Kintaka, unfroze the Snow King, and melted Odra down to miniature size. By the time they were victorious, Logray, Chief Chirpa, the Flower Queen, the Sun King, and the Leaf Queen arrived, only to find that the situation was under control.[1] Years later, Professor Mankuskett, Chair of Metagrowth and Polymorphism at the University of Sanbra, described in a 12 ABY paper that magic on Endor had turned "local kingpins into weather-controlling warlocks."[2]
Personality and traits
- "Oh, I'm just not ready. Oh, why my petals aren't even colored yet. Oh, no, no."
- ―The Flower Queen
The Flower Queen was the most worried among her siblings during the Odra crisis, both about how they would successfully defeat Odra and about her own petals' appearance. She had black eyes and dark yellow skin, with a lighter shade of yellow protruding from the inside of her petals. Her torso was green in the middle and covered in pink on the sides and limbs.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Flower Queen first appeared in "The Season Scepter,"[1] the thirteenth episode of the second season of the animated television series Ewoks, which premiered on November 1, 1986.[4]
