A float-jelly was a type of massive floating living gasbag that resided on[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Yar Togna. These gasbags ate ash held in the planet's thick atmosphere from erupting volcanoes. Float-jellies traveled in lumbering herds that ate the ash, preventing the planet from plunging into a deep freeze. The gasbags had back secretions that made for a rich soil.[1]
Float farmers used the secretions to grow delicacies such as mushrooms, mosses, and molds that were prized throughout the galaxy directly on float-jellies' backs. Farming on the float-jellies was dangerous, successful float farmers were often Tognath eggmates. Pilots dodged volcanic updrafts and the gasbags colliding while leapers harvested the produce from the backs of the float-jellies.[1]

Float jellies were mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a 2018 roleplaying sourcebook published by Fantasy Flight Games for the Star Wars Roleplaying game.[1]
