Fire paste was a versatile chemical putty that could be used to ignite and sustain emergency fires on nearly any flammable object. Manufactured by the Corellian Chemical Corporation, the paste was packaged with an igniter in small cubes, similar to tiny plastic explosive charges. After the cube was spread across a fuel source, it could be ignited by pulling a tab on the igniter. Even without a fuel source, the paste was capable of burning in any atmosphere with the intensity of a small campfire for roughly an hour, although the paste did not function in a vacuum or underwater. During the Galactic Civil War, the paste cost five hundred credits and was simple to find for purchase.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, fire paste was mentioned in the 2019 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Gadgets and Gear, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] The paste originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in The Unknown Regions, a 2010 Star Wars Roleplaying Game supplement published by Wizards of the Coast.[2]
