The Tarabba system was located in the Tarabba sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was situated on the super-hyperroute known as the Rimma Trade Route, which linked it to the Denab[2] and Tantra systems.[5]

The Tarabba system[1] contained the celestial body Tarabba Prime, which was the nearest major shipping and communications hub to[3] the Tarabba sector's Utapau system.[1] The former system was also the site of a Galactic Empire depot[4] that was successfully attacked by the Rebel Alliance[6] at some point by 3 ABY.[7]

The Tarabba system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square M-19.[2]
