T8-3R was a BB-series astromech droid that resided on The Island of a planet after being stranded there. The droid was one of the many inhabitants known as Castaways who called the island home. When picked up, the droid would flash green, then yellow, then red, before releasing electricity that shocked anyone nearby. T8-3R had yellow and blue plating, and a black sensor.[1]

T8-3R first appeared and was identified in the mobile game LEGO Star Wars: Castaways,[1] released on November 19, 2021. Prior to the game's release, T8-3R was first pictured in the news post reveal article of the game posted on StarWars.com on October 19 of that year.[2] The droid is named in two of the randomly given daily missions where the player character must throw T8-3R and electrocute one player or three players at the same time.[1] The droid was designed by concept artist Oscar Cafaro. In the concept art, the droid was referred to as "BB-0" and "TT-0."[3]
