- "Sir, we've picked up a suspicious signal. It could be a survivor, sir."
- ―The stormtrooper, reporting to the Inquisitor
A stormtrooper served under an Inquisitor during the Imperial Era.[2] At some point between 4 BBY and 3 BBY[3] while on an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, the stormtrooper reported to the Inquisitor that they had received a signal from the planet below them, stating it could be a Jedi that survived the Great Jedi Purge. The signal was accidentally sent by T0-B1, a Force-sensitive droid belonging to Jedi Master Mitaka. After receiving the report from the trooper, the Inquisitor traveled to the planet and killed Mitaka.[2]
As a human[1] stormtrooper of the Galactic Empire's Stormtrooper Corps, they wore white stormtrooper armor and carried an E-11 medium blaster rifle.[2]
Behind the scenes
- "I wanted to show the classic stormtrooper design adapted to the film. Chronologically, I had to because this story takes place before Episode IV. But I also admit the original designs are my favorites."
- ―Director Abel Gongora on the stormtrooper design
The stormtrooper first appeared in "T0-B1," a non-canon short film released as part of the first volume of Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Science SARU, was released on Disney+[2] on September 22, 2021.[5] In the short film, the stormtrooper was voiced by Yuuki Shin in Japanese and Michael Sinterniklaas in English.[2] The design for the stormtrooper used the classic trooper design but was rounded and made softer to fit into the retro style of "T0-B1."[4] Concept art for the trooper was created by Takafumi Hori.[6] Another piece of art depicted the stormtrooper alongside a stylized shadow trooper.[4]

Star Wars: Visions — "T0-B1"
- ↑ "T0-B1" takes place during the Great Jedi Purge, which ended with the Mission to Malachor according to The Odyssey of Star Wars: An Epic Poem. Star Wars: Timelines dates the mission to Malachor to 3 BBY, this is when the Jedi Purge ended, and the latest that "T0-B1" can take place. "T0-B1" also features the TIE/ad v1, as the TIE/ad v1 was introduced and had its maiden flight on Empire Day as shown in "Empire Day," which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 4 BBY, making this the earliest "T0-B1" can take place. Therefore, "T0-B1" must take place between 4 BBY and 3 BBY.
