Lorn was a bureaucrat and a scholar of the history of the Jedi. He had an office in the Imperial Senate Building and had access to valuable historical records. He was sympathetic to the Rebellion's cause, and feared his knowledge of the Bardottan sphere shard would make him a target of the Empire. He asked for the Rebellion's protection, and in turn provided information on the shard of the Bardottan Sphere. Using ancient blueprints of the Jedi Temple, Lorn narrowed down possible hiding places for the shard, but needed to be on-site to perform a final analysis.[1]
