(info)

A lawnmower[2] was a machine used for trimming lawns. It consisted of a deck that made contact with the lawn and a π-shaped handle that arched outward for ease of use. Lawnmowers were designed to be pushed manually by maintenance droids.[1]

During the New Republic Era, lawnmowers were utilized on the isolated planet of At Attin.[1] Around 9 ABY,[3] a maintenance droid operated a lawnmower in a yard next door to the house of Wendle and Wim. One day, as Wim hurried to catch[1] his[2] school tram, he intruded on his neighbor's lawn and leaped over the lawnmower being pushed by the droid.[1]

Behind the scenes

A lawnmower first appeared in "This Could Be a Real Adventure," the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,[1] which premiered on December 2, 2024.[4] The name of the appliance was specified in the Disney+ audio description of the episode, narrated by Jedediah Barton.[2]

  3. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
