The Isatabith rain forest,[2] also known as the Isatabith forest, was located on the Core World[4] of Alderaan[2] and partially shared its name with Isatabith falls.[4] The rain forest was one of multiple Alderaanian locations that were described to Imperial pilot Thane Kyrell by his friend Nash Windrider during the latter's efforts to extol the planet's natural beauty and list its best places to visit,[2] with the location featuring ample vegetation and birds.[3]
Kyrell later thought of both the rain forest and the Cloudshape Falls as potential destinations for he and his friend just before witnessing the destruction of Alderaan[2] in 1 BBY, where the forest was destroyed as well.[1] An illustration of the Isatabith rain forest was included a map of Alderaan made by the artist Gammit Chond, which was included in an updated version of the Galactic Atlas book published by the Graf Archive at some point no earlier than 35 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Isatabith rain forest was first mentioned in the 2015 novel Lost Stars, written by Claudia Gray.[2] It was first identified as the Isatabith forest in "Core Worlds, Colonies, the Inner Rim and Expansion Region," a part of De Agostini's Star Wars Encyclopedia line[4] that was released on June 8, 2022.[5] The forest was first pictured in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: Galactic Atlas: Updated Edition, written by Emil Fortune and Paddy Kempshall and illustrated by Tim McDonagh.[3]
