- "We got a bomber of our own. That's light work."
"Not while their shield generator is active, I'm afraid." - ―Iric Lams and Pevel Kronara
Iric Lams was a human Jedi Padawan of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. While in the planet Eriadu's Republic outpost in 228 BBY, he attended Admiral Pevel Kronara's planning meeting for the joint Republic Defense Coalition and Jedi Order mission to rescue prisoners from the Nihil prison ship Korvix Vorn. That year, as part of the Eriaduan resistance, Lams helped his allies repel the Nihil invading Eriadu, celebrating once they were defeated.
Biography
- "You've all been rigorously vetted, so listen up and speak freely."
- ―Pevel Kronara, to Iric Lams and the others in a meeting
The human Iric Lams served as part of the Jedi Order as a Jedi Padawan during the High Republic Era.[1] He[2] was present in the Republic outpost on[1] the planet[4] Eriadu[1] in 228 BBY. That year,[5] after being vetted to attend, Lams attended a meeting hosted for members of the Republic Defense Coalition and the Jedi Order that was led by the Republic Admiral Pevel Kronara to plan a mission to rescue prisoners from the Nihil prison ship Korvix Vorn.[1]
Iric Lams (second from right) attended the planning meeting for Republic and Jedi's Korvix Vorn mission.
The Padawan stood next to Jedi Master Fleur Ridleg as Kronara displayed a hologram of the vessel and explained its armaments—laser cannons and blister bombs. When Lams indicated to the admiral that they had bombers of their own to counter the Nihil's weaponry, Kronara countered that their enemy's shield generators would deflect their attacks while it was active. Shortly after the meeting's end, the Republic and Jedi carried out the mission[1] and successfully rescued the Korvix Vorn's prisoners.[6]
Later in 228 BBY,[7] Lams joined his Jedi and Eriaduan allies as part of the Eriaduan resistance to repel the Nihil invading Eriadu. With a group of allies, he used his lightsaber to defend against Nihil snipers. The Eriaduan resistance defeated the Nihil on the world not long afterward, with the resistance celebrating their triumph.[3] The Nihil collectively surrendered to the Republic not long afterward.[8]
Personality and traits
During the Nihil conflict, Lams was loyal to the Jedi Order and the Republic during their joint fight against the marauders. He had been among several individuals rigorously vetted to attend the briefing meeting for the Korvix Vorn mission and felt that beating the ship's defenses would be easy work. Lams had dark eyes, tan skin, and brown hair, some of which he kept styled in a Padawan braid.[1]
Skills and abilities
As a Padawan, Lams was a Force-sensitive individual trained to wield the Force.[1]
Equipment
On Eriadu, the Padawan donned brown Jedi attire featuring a lighter undertunic, tan pants, a utility belt, gray vambraces, and gray boots. Under his utility belt, Lams wore a blue-colored sash.[1] Lams wielded a yellow-bladed lightsaber.[3]
Behind the scenes
Iric Lams debuted in the fourth issue of The High Republic Adventures.
Iric Lams appeared in the fourth issue of the 2023 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures. The issue was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Elisa Romboli, and published by Dark Horse Comics as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III on March 13, 2024.[9] On Twitter, Older revealed Ridleg's pronouns as "he/him."[2]
In the fourth issue, Lams is depicted with a blue-colored sash.[1] According to the reference book Star Wars: The High Republic: The Lightsaber Collection,[10] which was written by Daniel Wallace and published on November 12 of the same year,[11] the sash color of Star Wars: The High Republic Padawans was intended to reflect their lightsaber color.[10] Lams also appeared in the nineteenth issue of The High Republic Adventures, written by Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, and released by Dark Horse[3] on June 25, 2025.[12] In the issue, Lams is depicted with a yellow-bladed lightsaber, which this article assumes to be correct.[3]
