- "Hey. T'onga! You've been gone a long time—and your poor thirsty brother still doesn't have his Dark Blue Milk!"
"You do see I'm by the bar, right, T'ongor? I'm good for my round."
"I saw you ignore two bartenders who came up to you. And I need something to drink—before Bossk gets us kicked out of this place." - ―T'ongor and T'onga
Dark Blue Milk was a beverage potable by humans. It was served at various locations during the Imperial Era, including at Cid's Parlor on the Mid Rim planet Ord Mantell, Tanda's Cantina on the Suria space station, and cantinas on the Outer Rim planets Lau, Serolonis, and Varkana.
Around 10 BBY, while her crew was at the Varkana cantina, the human bounty hunter T'onga went to order a round of drinks for the crew, one of which was a Dark Blue Milk for her twin brother T'ongor. After T'onga became distracted, T'ongor went to see why she was taking so long, and upon realizing why, the brother said he would have to get his own drink.
Description
Dark Blue Milk was a beverage potable by humans[4] that shared its named with the beverage blue milk.[6] It was stored in a dark blue bottle with a grey top and a lighter blue label with the drink's name written in[7] Aurebesh text.[8]
History
- "So. What's got you so distracted? [Sees that T'onga is looking at Losha] Oh I get it…I guess I'll be getting my own drink, then. See you back at the booth."
- ―T'ongor, to T'onga
During the Imperial Era, Dark Blue Milk was served at the bar Cid's Parlor[2] in Ord Mantell City on the Mid Rim[8] planet Ord Mantell[2] by 19 BBY.[9] By the time between 19 BBY and 18 BBY,[10] the beverage was available in the cantina at the Safa Toma Speedway on[3] the Outer Rim[11] planet Serolonis.[12] A cantina on[1] the Outer Rim[11] planet[13] Lau[1] and Tanda's Cantina on[5] the Suria space station[14] both served Dark Blue Milk[1][5] by around 18 BBY.[15]
While on Varkana, T'onga (right) was to order a Dark Blue Milk for her brother T'ongor (left) but became distracted.
By around 10 BBY,[16] Dark Blue Milk was served at a cantina[4] owned by the human[17] Losha Tarkon[8] on the Outer Rim planet Varkana.[4] Around that year,[16] the bounty hunting crew of the Nautolan Nakano Lash visited the cantina. During the crew's time at the cantina, the human T'onga visited its bar to get a round of drinks for the crew, including a Dark Blue Milk for[4] her human twin[8] brother T'ongor. T'onga, however, became distracted by a bartender—Tarkon—and ignored two others who approached her, resulting in it taking a long enough time to get the drinks that T'ongor went to see what was taking her so long.[4]
When he arrived at the bar, T'ongor noted to T'onga he still did not have his Dark Blue Milk, to which she replied that she was good for her round. After noting that he needed a drink before they were kicked out for their fellow crewmate Bossk fighting with other patrons, T'ongor realized why his sister had been taking so long and then stated he would have to get his own drink before heading back to their crew's booth.[4]
Behind the scenes
Dark Blue Milk first appeared in "Rampage,"[2] the fifth episode in the first season of the Disney+ animated television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which aired on May 28, 2021.[18] Lucasfilm Animation artist Chris Madden created a concept-art illustration of the beverage's bottle design for the episode on August 16, 2019, which labeled it as "Bottle K."[7]
