This combat-scout droid was a droid that was once lost in a desert planet until it encountered C-3PO, R2-D2 and a man mounted on a CRILOC Horse. Despite its combat-oriented programming, this droid merely wanted to greet the astonished droids instead of destroying them.
Behind the scenes
The combat scout droid was created by Roy Grinnell for the 2010 book Star Wars Art: Visions. His artwork was entitled "Wait... The Droid Just Wants to Say Hello".
According to Grinnell, he wanted the droid to have Human-like characteristics such as a sad, lonesome and compassive look without looking fearsome.
