CZ-3 was a CZ-series secretary/business communications droid that was twinned with fellow CZ unit CZ-1 in service to members of the Stacchati species. After a crash in the deserts of Tatooine the two droids became separated[1] and CZ-3 ended up in the spaceport of Mos Eisley.[2] In 1 BBY,[3] CZ-3 wandered through the spaceport's streets past the local moisture farmer Luke Skywalker and the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi after the pair had sold an X-34 landspeeder[2] to the merchant Wioslea.[4]
Behind the scenes
CZ-3 first appeared in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[2]
C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels brought the droid to life.[5]
