Amleto was an Elomin spy who lived during the war between the First Order and the Resistance. She had red skin and orange eyes. The Elomin wore a light-colored tunic, a belt over brown pants, and a brown neck scarf. Amleto also wore a gray and green mask over the lower half of her face, and a brown band on her right arm.[1]

Behind the scenes

"The script originally featured an additional spy. Her name: Amleto. An Elomin. But she was ultimately cut from the arc."

Amleto was created for "Breakout,"[1] the thirteenth episode of the second season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance, which aired on December 29, 2019.[3] She was first indirectly mentioned in the installment's accompanying episode guide within its concept art gallery.[4]

The character was fully designed but eventually cut from the final version of the episode. Instead of Amleto meeting Resistance spies Norath Kev and Kazuda Xiono on[1] the planet[5] Varkana, the pair instead encountered the market vendor Darrb while trying to evade First Order capture.[6] At one point, "Breakout"'s writer—Steven Melching—had also written the episode to feature Resistance pilot Poe Dameron as part of the group with Kev, Xiono,[7] and Amleto[1] on Varkana. Dameron was eventually drafted out of the script due to scheduling conflicts with Dameron's actor, Oscar Isaac, and because the episode seemed "too crowded,"[7] while Amleto reached design stage before being cut.[1]

Amleto was first fully mentioned in the article "Bucket's List Extra: 4 Fun Facts from 'Breakout' – Star Wars Resistance," which was posted on StarWars.com on December 30, 2019.[1] Concept artwork of the character was shown in the article's accompanying video on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, which was released the same day.[2] Lucasfilm Animation artist Aaron Pham created a concept illustration titled "verkDomicileAmleto" for "Breakout" on May 7, 2018.[4]
