- "You had me fooled with that fancy lightsaber. I thought you were an actual Jedi, but you're just a student."
- ―Aman to Nakime.
Aman was a Sith who wielded two red lightsabers and at some point engaged in a lightsaber duel with the Jedi Padawan Nakime and her master. During the duel she struck Nakime's eyes, blinding her and causing her to fall down a cliff.[2]
Behind the scenes
Aman appeared in "The Bird of Paradise," a non-canon short film directed by Tadahiro Yoshihira that will release as part of the third volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Polygon Pictures, released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. The character was first pictured in a trailer released on the official Star Wars Youtube channel on September 25, 2025.[1]
Aman was based on a Japanese mythology goddess known as Amanosagume, the origin of the folkloric mischievous demon Amanojaku. Aman's design was a blend of oni, horned demons in Japanese folktales, Sith tattoos with kabuki makeup and kumadori patterns. Also included were motifs of the Joker and skulls symbolizing death, as well as aspects drawn from Japanese esoteric Buddhism.[3]
