This article covers a subject from a Star Wars: Visions story that Lucasfilm declared is set in an alternate history within a reimagined galaxy.

"May I always be at one with the Force."
―Nakime[1]

Nakime was a Force-sensitive human Jedi Padawan. At some point, she and her master engaged in a lightsaber duel with the Sith Aman. During the duel she performed a Force jump, with the help of the droid Daruma, while attacking Aman; however, Aman leaped at her and struck her eyes with her lightsabers, blinding her and causing her to fall down a cliff and into the chasm.[1]

Afterwards, she underwent a series of spiritual trials in which she overcame the temptation to the dark side.[1]

Behind the scenes

"In the story, the main character becomes blind, and in order to depict the scenery that they feel in their hearts while they are blind, I did various artwork in the sense of going back and forth between reality, fantasy, and various worlds."
―Tadahiro Yoshihira[4]

Nakime appeared in "The Bird of Paradise," a non-canon short film directed by Tadahiro Yoshihira released as part of the third volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Polygon Pictures, released on Disney+ on October 29, 2025. The character was first introduced at the Star Wars: Visions panel at Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025.[3] She is voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa in the original Japanese version and by Sonoya Mizuno in the English dub.[5] According to Yoshihira, Nakime's acrobatics and fighting style during the lightsaber duel were meant to highlight her hot-headedness and lack of maturity.[6]
