An adaptive generator was an experimental starship system that was capable of collecting energy from nearby exploding reactors and channel that energy to a ship's systems.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] one was stored in a backroom at Jet Kordo's hideout on the moon Toshara.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess talked with Korsaan Dwyll while in Hauler's Keep who told her that Jet Kordo, a previous owner of her EML-850 light freighter, as at a hideout at Toshara. After giving Vess the coordinates for the hideout, Dwyll told her that Kordo would probably like to see his old ship again. Vess later traveled to the hideout where she was ambushed by Dwyll and two accomplices who was hoping of killing Vess, taking her ship, the Trailblazer, and giving it Jabba Desilijic Tiure to pay off a debt they had with the Hutt. After dealing with the group, Vess checked the backroom and recovered the adaptive generator[1]
Behind the scenes
Adaptive generators first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] They were a collectable "passive system" ship upgrade that players could find during the "Jet Kordo Hideout" intel quest. When equipped the upgrade restores some of the player's ship's hull and deflector shield when the player destroys enemy ships. When dealing with Dwyll the player has the options of fighting them, offering to pay off the debt themselves or using a positive relationship they have with the Hutt Clan to dissuade the attack.[1]
