Fedalle was a powerful and wealthy Core Worlds industrial planet located on the Hydian Way. It was home to a population known as the Fedalleans. Located in space explored between 27,500 BBY and 25,000 BBY, Fedalle had become a part of the Galactic Republic by around 22,000 BBY and was aligned with the Republic's capital world, Coruscant, during the early Alsakan Conflicts. By the time of the Mandalorian Wars, Fedalle had been visited by the Republic Hammerhead-class cruiser Sanctuary. Millennia later, the planet was a part of the Galactic Empire, eventually serving as an Imperial fortress world. By 11 ABY, Fedalle was represented in the New Republic by Senator Hrekin Thorm.
Description
Fedalle was a terrestrial[2] planet[5] located in the Fedalle system. It was a part of the Arrowhead, or the Slice portion of the Core Worlds. By approximately 22,000 BBY, Fedalle was situated between the Glithnos and Talravin systems on the hyperspace route known as the Brentaal–Denon Route. At some point following 3694 BBY, the hyperlane was integrated into the galaxy-spanning Hydian Way super-hyperroute. Another hyperspace route also linked Fedalle to the Raxxa system.[1] Between approximately 17,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY, that route connected it to the Xorth system, as well.[4]
History
An ancient Core World
The Sanctuary (wreckage pictured) once visited Fedalle.
Space surrounding Fedalle was explored between 27,500 BBY and 25,000 BBY, and the planet had become a part of the Galactic Republic by around 22,000 BBY.[1] During the early Alsakan Conflicts, a series of wars that began in 17,018 BBY and saw the Republic's capital world Coruscant, the planet Alsakan, and their respective allies struggle over political and economic control over the Republic, Fedalle was affiliated with Coruscant.[4] The world was at one point visited by the Republic Hammerhead-class cruiser Sanctuary—which was active by the time of the Mandalorian Wars[2] of 3976 BBY–3960 BBY[6]—with the visit being noted on the starship's flight record.[2]
Millennia later, a century prior to the Galactic Civil War that was fought between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance[2] in 2 BBY–4 ABY,[6] the captain of the starship Astral Jester, hoping to lay a claim on a hyperlane leading through the Deep Core, filed dozens of well-documented yet erroneous flight plans, including one detailing a route from Coruscant to Fedalle.[2] Later, the Fourth Army of the Republic's Grand Army was tasked with engaging the military forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in Fedalle's vicinity as part of the first campaigns of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY.[4]
After the Republic
Five years later, Fedalle had been incorporated into the territory of the Empire.[4] Under that regime, the planet was represented in the Imperial Senate by its native Hrekin Thorm.[3] By the time of the Galactic Civil War, both the flight record of the Sanctuary and the Astral Jester flight plan mentioning Fedalle had come to rest in the Archive of Phelar University on the Outer Rim Territories planet Eriadu.[2]
At one point during that conflict, a group of Force-sensitive individuals performing research in the Archive discovered both of the documents containing mentions of Fedalle.[2]
Fedalle served as an Imperial fortress world between 4 ABY and 7 ABY.[1] By 11 ABY,[7] Thorm represented Fedalle as a senator of the New Republic. Owing to Fedalle's influence in the galaxy, he had a powerful role in the Senate as well as the political backing to get himself to be appointed to the New Republic's Inner Council.[3]
Inhabitants
Fedalle was an affluent and powerful[3] industrial world.[2] It was home to the population known as the Fedalleans, who generally espoused a pragmatic yet self-centered philosophy of being largely indifferent to what political faction served as the galactic government as long as the interests of Fedalle were served.[3]
Behind the scenes
Fedalle was first mentioned in The Jedi Academy Sourcebook, which was written by Paul Sudlow and published in 1996 by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Fedalle system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-10.[1] In "Lessons from the Past," a roleplaying adventure included in the 2015 Core Rulebook for Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game system, the player characters can optionally discover pieces of information mentioning Fedalle. This article assumes the scenario plays out as described.[2]
