Fecklen were stumpy,[1] squat, horned,[2] gracile-necked creatures that lived in herds on their homeworld Chandrila.[1] They were the primary ranching animal on the planet and were raised for their meat and milk. Though quite peaceful, they were known to block traffic and were capable of producing a loud booming noise that served to frighten off predators and locate other members of their herd. Fecklens roamed widely and grazed on balmgrass.[2]
In 26 ABY,[3] while New Republic general Wedge Antilles met with the Jedi Kyp Durron and Jaina Solo, a herd of fecklen near the shore of Chandrila's Silver Sea began to angrily make booming and whirring noises at a nearby group of squalls,[4] members of a small quadrupedal species also native to Chandrila.[5]
Behind the scenes
The fecklen first appeared in Greg Keyes's 2001 novel The New Jedi Order: Edge of Victory II: Rebirth, the second volume of the Edge of Victory Duology, which itself was part of the series Star Wars: The New Jedi Order.[4]
