Fanbug

Fanbugs were a type of flying bug that could be found on the moon of the Outer Rim planet Arli. When the San Tekka clan member Jordanna Sparkburn lived on the moon years before^[1] 228 BBY,^[2] she and her brother Harth Sparkburn attended a school in the city Birage. During their lunch breaks, the fanbugs used their wings to flutter along with the siblings. When she returned to the moon^[1] in 228 BBY,^[2] Jordanna mentally recalled when the fanbugs had drifted with her and Harth.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Fanbugs were mentioned in the 2024 young-adult novel The High Republic: Defy the Storm, written by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's^[1] Phase III.^[3] Within the novel, fanbugs were mentioned within a chapter written by Gratton.^[4]
