The Fakir Roughnecks[1] was a rebel cell active in the Fakir sector[2] during the period of early rebellion against the Galactic Empire prior to the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic[1] proper in 2 BBY.[3] The group was still active during the preceding Galactic Civil War between the Alliance and the Empire, and at that time was led by the parents of the human Dynia Reekeene.[2]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Fakir Roughnecks were first mentioned indirectly in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[2] The group was then identified in the 2023 reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide, which was written by Hidalgo and Emily Shkoukani.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Reekeene's Roughnecks were a rebel group active in the Fakir sector that first appeared in "Tests of the Godking," an adventure written by Bill Slavicsek and published in the 1988 Star Wars Campaign Pack for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.[4]
