- "The Ezaraa are no surprise, of course. If you promised them a new blaster, they'll be there—"
- ―Chelli Aphra
The Ezaraa were a species of warmongering carnivorous sentients[1] that were native to the the planet Ezaraa.[2] They intended to overthrow the Galactic Empire, only to replace it with their own dominion and feed on the other species, which they deemed as lesser to them.[1] Despite their wide reaching dreams of conquest, however, the Dominion was limited to a mere two continents on Ezaraa. To arm their revolution, the dominion sent Ezaraa to take advantage of opportunities such as the Auction of Rur.[2]

"Retreat!" - ―Ezaraa warriors during the Rur Crystal incident
Described by the smuggler Han Solo as "religious types,"[5] the Ezaraa made up the Dominion of the Ezaraa, a warmongering faction that had control of two continents on their homeworld of Ezaraa. Despite that limited territory,[2] the Dominion had dreams of overthrowing Galactic Empire and replace it as the ruling government of the galaxy,[1] with one Ezaraa further proclaiming that their ultimate destiny was to control the whole universe.[2] Once in power, they would feed on the other species, which they deemed as lesser to them.[1] Enemies of the Ezaraa were regarded as heretics. One Ezaraa once mocked the human Chelli Lona Aphra as "quasi-sentient flesh," but they offered a small degree—specifically 0.00001 percent—of their future earnings to Aphra and her next ten descendants should she provide them with the Rur Crystal. If she did not, the Ezaraa promised that her and the greater Aphra family would suffer within torture plants. For her part, however, Aphra was not threatened and instead thought the Ezaraa were foolish for dreaming of universal conquest when they did not even control their whole homeworld.[2]
The Ezaraa way was defined by combat and the taking of life; during the incident with Aphra and the Rur Crystal, during which Eternal Rur intelligence managed to take over a droid body, an Ezaraa remarked it was better to claim their prize from the droid's corpse, heralding it as the Ezaraa way. In the name of the Ezaraa Dominion and its supposed glory, that Ezaraa and two others quickly engaged the droid, only for one of their number to be cut down. In response, one of the two remaining Ezaraas quickly ordered a retreat.[4] One of the survivors did attempt to engage the Sith Lord Darth Vader in combat, proclaiming their species was unstoppable before Vader slaid the Ezaraa.[6]
Ezaraa in the galaxy
- "The Ezaraa will rule the universe. It is our destiny. For delivering the Rur sentience to us, you will receive 0.00001% of our Imperial revenue, for you and your next ten descendants."
- ―An Ezaraa, to Chelli Aphra
The Ezaraa dreamed of spreading their Dominion across the stars.
The Dominion of the Ezaraa yearned to rule the universe and sought out anything that could arm them against their opposition.[2] One of them visited the Citadel of Ktath'atn in an attempt to trade an oddity to the queen there in exchange for a favor of the Dominion's choice. The attempt did not succeed, however.[1] The Dominion of the Ezaraa also visited the auction of the conscious kyber crystal containing the Eternal Rur, in the hopes of obtaining and weaponizing it.[3] They promised the host of the auction, Doctor Chelli Aphra, a share of their Dominion if she granted them the crystal and they were ever successful in taking over the galaxy. Upon confirming with her protocol droid 0-0-0 that the Ezaraa did not even control all of their home planet, however, she was left unsure if they were more foolish for dreaming of universal conquest or if she was for inviting them in the first place.[2]
The kyber crystal, however, was able to possess a Cyban Front droid and attack those gathered. In response and in the name of their government's glory, Ezaraa attacked with the aim of capturing the crystal from the droid's corpse, only for Rur to quickly slay one of the Ezaraa. Scared, the two survivors elected to retreat.[4] After Imperial forces summoned by 0-0-0 and Aphra's fellow droid servant BT-1, both of whom were eager to break from her service and hoped to use the incident to do so, entered the battle, one of the Ezaraa attempted to engage the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who led the Imperial assault and quickly cut down the Ezaraa before moving onto Rur.[6]
