An erd was a domesticated predator often used as a sentry animal found on Ithor,[1] a planet that was the homeworld of the Ithorian species.[2] Some Ithorian males had "Erd" as a given name.[1]

The erd was mentioned in the 2003 reference book Galactic Campaign Guide, written by Peter M. Schweighofer and J.D. Wiker and published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[1]
