The era of Rebellion was a time period during the Imperial Era. By the era of Rebellion, the Jedi Council had been destroyed and thus no longer governed surviving or aspiring Jedi. As a result, Force-sensitive individuals had to seek or chance upon other mentors to train in the ways of the Force.[1]
Luke Skywalker began training as a Jedi and joining the Rebel Alliance during the era of Rebellion because of his connection with surviving Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Era of Rebellion was first identified in Star Wars canon in the 2018 Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Knights of Fate.[1]
