An engine coupling was an engine component. Starships typically had more than one coupling per ship. The power that flowed through the coupling was regulated by a hydrovalve.[1]
While fixing his ship, the Dorion Discus, after a battle, the smuggler Roark Garnet found a faulty hydrovalve attached to the engine couplings. By fixing the hydrovalve, Garnet increased the sublight speed of his vessel.[1]
