Energy couplers were technological devices with a variety of uses. Energy couplers could be used to provide power to energy containment systems, such as the cage Captain Grizzid used to transport a rancor to Tatooine. The cage, located in his light freighter's cargo hold, had energy couplers that were rigged to feed triple the amount of power to containment system.[1]
Energy couplers could also be used to attach cargo to vehicles. Some Starhawk speeder bikes were equipped with energy couplers.[2] Turk Falso and a group of Weequay pirates used speeder bikes with energy couplers to transport spice they stole from the Galactic Republic.[3]
