A energy control system was a starship system that used a dedicated data-brain to optimize a ship's reactive systems to better protect a ships cargo from the effects of weapon impacts.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess paid a starship mechanics two thousand credits and supplied them with twenty Cargo signature scramblers in order to install the system in the hold of the Trailblazer, her EML-850 light freighter.[1]
Behind the scenes
Energy control systems appeared as an upgrade in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] In the expansion, players could purchase the "energy control system" upgrade to reduce the time lost when taking damage while transporting timed cargo.[1]
