Emeralds were green[1] gemstones valued by pirates. They could be worth anywhere from five to twenty-five thousand credits per Coruscant Standard Carat.[2] The planet Naboo, which looked like a green orb from space, was sometimes compared to an emerald.[1]
An emerald ring was given to Tenel Ka Djo by her ailing mother, Teneniel Djo. That jewel turned out to be a holocube showing the location of a rebuilt Hapan fleet.[3]
The Jedi Knight Corran Horn used a emerald to power the first phase in his lightsaber.[4]
