"The day the terrorists killed my parents, I understood that life has no interest in playing fair. Since that day, I have seen with my eyes, not my hopes."
―Ellian Zahra[3]

At least two individuals were the parents of the human[3] female[4] Ellian Zahra. While Zahra was still young,[2] her parents were killed,[3] along with the rest of her family, in a rebel terrorist attack long before[2] around 1 BBY.[1] Believing that there was no fairness to life as a result,[3] Zahra was forced to survive on her own for some time, eventually signing up at the Imperial Academy to prevent such a thing from happening to others.[2] Around 1 BBY,[1] Zahra mentioned the death of her parents to Governor Wilhuff Tarkin after she passed the test to become his protégé.[3] She later mentioned the death of her family when confronting Princess Leia Organa of the Rebel Alliance[2] in 3 ABY.[5]

Behind the scenes

Ellian Zahra's parents were first mentioned in flashbacks in the seventh issue of the 2020 Star Wars comic series, written by Charles Soule and published by Marvel Comics[3] on October 7 of that year.[6]
