An electromagnetic pulse (or EMP for short) was a short yet powerful burst of electromagnetic energy. EMP devices were commonly used to disable electronics and droids. They were used extensively by clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.[1] The LOM-series protocol droid bounty hunter 4-LOM wielded a DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle that could fire electromagnetic pulses.[2]
