Electromagnets were a type of magnet. Bantha-II cargo skiffs were equipped with electromagnets on extendable trunks on their undersides.[1] In 4 ABY,[2] the Rebel allies of the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO used two electromagnets on the underside of a Bantha-II cargo skiff to pull the two droids out of the sand near the Great Pit of Carkoon on the planet Tatooine, where the duo had become partially buried after jumping from the side of the sail barge Khetanna shortly before its destruction.[1]
