8D-8D

8D-8D, or simply referred as Eights, was a training droid who served the Jedi Order on Starlight Beacon during the High Republic Era.^[2]

Behind the scenes

8D-8D first appear, albeit unidentified, in the first issue of the 2023 comic book miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight, written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Ibraim Roberson, and published by Marvel Comics^[1] on October 4, 2023.^[3] The droid was later identified in the children's book The High Republic: Jedi Brave in Every Way, written by Charles Soule and Rosemary Soule, and published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press^[2] on October 10 of the same year.^[4]

8D-8D had two different designs between Jedi Brave in Every Way and the first issue of Shadows of Starlight, though they kept the same color scheme. Soule later confirmed on Twitter that the two droids are indeed 8D-8D.^[5]
